The forum will take a restful break for Christmas from December 18 until January 1. Our other social media will break from December 18 until January 8. (January 1 is Charlotte Mason's birthday. January 8 allows us to break during Orthodox Christmas, which is later than the western Christmas.) During this time you will be able to view posts but not make them.
May you and your family experience the peace of Christ during this Christmas season!

Will there be a Christmas party?
I always seem to miss it anyway
But I’d like to put it in my calendar just in case!

A day or two before, isn't it?

What is the Christmas party?
Second generation homeschooler. Grateful to my Father for the privilege of educating my children at home. Thankful for his longsuffering when homeschooling sneaks up onto the pedestal to become my idol.

Start it yourself whenever you think it's not too early

I'm glad to see the extension to Jan 8 in consideration of Orthodox Christmas. Those of us celebrating on the 25th should probably take more time off than we do (why do we often go-go-go so much that we forget to contemplate and truly celebrate the greatest gift?), and certainly the Advisory and Moderators are entitled to the longer forum break.
But I never heard that it had been anybody’s business to find out what his natural bent was, or where his failings lay, or to adapt any kind of knowledge to him…..I did doubt whether [he] would not have profited by someone studying him a little, instead of his studying them quite so much. This was really strange to me when I first joined the Forum, and it merits explanation. The Christmas party is a virtual one. People post holiday greetings and what they would bring to a party or do at a party, snacks, games, etc., if it were an actual party. It's kind of neat to get an idea of other people's traditions, and maybe even ask for a recipe.
